MEET JOANNA
A Life-Long Love Of Learning Turned Into An Art Business
Admittedly (and proudly) I’ve always been a bit of a nerd. I was the kid who couldn’t leave the house without a book, declared I had a favorite author in the 2nd grade, and by the 5th grade wrote in my journal that my 50-year-old librarian was my very best friend.
If learning was my first love, art was my second. Born into a family of creatives I was always making things. My mom’s motto in life was (still is), “Don’t buy that, we can make it.” From a young age, I collected paper samples and stationery products, and while most kids were doing literally anything else I was printing off fonts and seeing if I could replicate them by hand.
My business is a fusion of these two loves. Through illustration, I am celebrating a life-long obsession of learning.
I’m most happy creating illustrations that tell stories, celebrate history, and encourage people to stay curious about the world around them.
I believe a curious world is a kinder world.
